Final Reflexion- Arianna A, A4

Throughout this whole year, I have learned quite a bit in Internet. I learned things much like Safety throughout the web searches, presentations over career positions, igoogles, advance searches, voicethreads, DIIGO, and other related activites. When taking the time to do each, I have now gained research skills to use on the web when looking up or researching a particular item or thing i may be unterested in following through or pursuing. I've learned by making an igoogle, you must have created a gmail in order for the process to work sucessfully. Once you have just created yourself the account, you can look up and research different games or apps for your homepage, that you may be interested in or become found of. I chose thing much like the espn updates on football, baseball, basketball scores that are going on all throughtout the world, that way you know what games are being played at what times, and who the opposing teams will be. More apps i recieved were small things like love quotes, quotes of the day, reminders from God, your horiscope, games, and much more.
When looking up and taking the time to search advance searches online, it may consist of things much like google maps, internet safety, bullying/cyberbulling, comparing idealistic animals to each other and what the results will end up being and much more. The internet is a very important research tool that will help you find necesssary information, facts, pictures, maps, presentatoins, documents, you name it, the internet can do it all. This is why the internet is a very important tool when looking up such things like advance searches.
At first, you may have thought, ok, this voicethread thing isn't really working out for me,this is what my first impression was, but once you know and become familiar with the idealistics of the program, you will become very fond of it. When making a voicethread, you can start out by choosing whatever topic you may want to research on. Once you have found that, start on making a presentaion over it through a document. Make any necesary corrections and possible information needed. Once you have finished with your information, facts, notes, you may proceed with the "voicethread" part. You install the earphones, and press record going over and talking about any necessary information that needs to be stated throughout the presentation. Go over and correct and mishaps or mistakes, and keep reciting it until you get it right. Now, that you have finished it, send the document to Mr. Stevenson through an email, and he should then grade your work.
When using the online internet, of course you have to become found of using google. Google holds many tabs and different necessities that you can research. On google docs you can create presentations, documents, and much more. When making presentations, its the same as making any other typical type of presentation on Word. But there contains slight differences; you have click on a tab to create or pull up a new slide, save pictures under word to pull them up through google docs to show it. And find different ways of using things rather than taking the easy way out.
When making a DIIGO account, it consists of being able to make new friends, making bookmarks, creating and editing your page, add pictures, and many more fun things to do while making an account through DIIGO.

Some days we are able to have a free day, catch up on work, homework, or even just play games. I enjoy days like these because its nice kicking back and just relaxing, although its good to learn new things each day.

Throughout this year in Internet, i have definitely learned a lot. Props to Mr. Stevenson, I have learned many uses, skills, and research sources for the internet. I plan on learning a lot of new things next semester as well.

Growing up online- Arianna Anderson

Part One: At home i use the internet for many things, such like research sources(Google), social networking sites (Facebook), online shopping sites, and many others.  When I am at school, i use it depending on the class i am in.  Whatever class it may be, i use it as a resource for things i may need to look up or for homework that needs to be done.  When I am on the internet at  home, i look up songs for my ipod (Itunes), Facebook, Resources for homework, or even an online shopping store.

No matter what the circumstance is, you must always know your internet safety, beware of things like cyberbulling, confidential information given out through internet, haackers, giving out passwords to email accounts, social networking sites, and online order forms, anything unusual you may not become familiar with, stay far away from it.  If you are being being bullied from online uses, or even through school, let someone know; a teacher, parent, friend, so that way they can help you.

2. In the beginning of the program, the narrator states that Morris County N.J. could be anywhere throughout America, 90% of teens are usually online, and the numbers a vastly growing.  I agree with this statement because this is very true.  Today, teens  are on the computer for homework related uses, social networking sites, games, anything.  Usually wasting their time on sites like Facebook because its so addicting and attracting; when they could be doing something useful with their lives like going out and getting a job, going to school, work, making money, instead of spending up most of the day wasting their time on the internet.  In my opinion, it's part of laziness when you could be doing something useful for yourself which could later end up making you very successful.
Yes, i would have to agree, it is very much like my community.

Part two: In school, they have allowed many classes to use technology like computers, digital medias, and much more to approved of in the future.  Depending on the class, you could computers for looking up research in anything.  Mainly all the core classes like Math, English, Science, History, or any different classes that could refer to using the internet.
It is also okay for students to use other technologies such like digital medias.  Here at PPHS, we have a photography class that allows you to use cameras, and buy many other neat accessories that may be needed for that class.  It is an optional class by your option.

Part three: One girl from the program stated that a Myspace or Facebook is much like having your own online page about you and your own personal space.  It is much like having a locker, a bedroom, diary, anything that is kept to yourself, about you, or even describes you.  A diary and bedroom are similar as to a facebook/myspace because it is a place about you and only you.  It describes you, and what kind of person you are.
2. I chose The girls who were fighting in the video, The person who recorded it and uploaded it, and the students in the school.  I chose these because these 3 groups are all similar in some way.  There was a person who had a video and wanted to record of two girls fighting, then that way they can post it up to any local or social networking websites so viewers, peers, and students could watch it.  All working together as a team in a negative way isnt a positive way of thinking overall as a good perspective on life.  Yet there are some differences because maybe there girls didnt have a whole organization together to record the video, they could have done it thereselves, and posted it so other viewers could see it, not knowing what they would have expected of it.

Part four: There are some cons and pros about the situation of being a celebrity, famous, or showing pictures/videos of yourself or someone else on the internet to be seen all from around the world.  The bad thing about this, is that people you may not know might actually know a lot about you, "stalk" you from internet sites, look at any pictures and videos of you that you may not even be aware of.  Always be safe and know the consequences of something before you do it. But, on the plus side, people can research you for things much like a project, do a biography on that person,  and could even become a role model of a celebrity or famous person. These are a few typical cons and pros that could be useful later to yourself and someone else.

Part five:  In my opinion, i think its a great idea that parents are monitoring their children on different internet sites, and checking up to make sure their child isn't getting into trouble or danger, and doing the right things on the internet by knowing your own personal safety.  For example, I have a facebook and my dad has one as well, always occasionally checking up on me and making sure im not getting into trouble, saying vulger things, and mainly just staying safe.

Part 6:  In my opinion, even though i haven't experienced an online relationship, i believe they are not safe, and would much rather meet someone through person than not knowing whose on the other side of that computer screen assuming its the person you "know" from JUST the computer.  Have a better plan, and just remember safety is always the key.  \

Part seven: Have i ever thought about disconnecting from it all?
Yes, i have.  When i first thought about that, i alomost freaked out! I dont think i can go a day without my cell phone! In my opinion i think it is very important to keep in touch and have a cell phone so your parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, family members, friends, know where you are at all times.  The internet on the other hand i could probably go without because im not on it that much.  But i always remember safety is first, and to make sure im doing the right thing.

H1N1-Arianna Anderson A4

My news story came from Fox News, What Happened to H1N1? The H1N1 started as a pandemic and moved across the world into different countries as a big wave of disease.  The U.S. had been infected with 12,000 deaths, 60 million illnesses, and 265,000 hopitalizations.  In August of 2010, the H1N1 virus had been declared no longer a pandemic.  In the new vaccine shots, they made a protection against the H1N1 plus the other 2 influenza strains.  Dr. Frank Esper had stated that the H1N1 virus will be back again this year, but to not be devestated by it because we now have an immunity to it.  CDC stresses that everyone gets this shot, including the victims that had this virus last year are recommended.

Voice thread- Arianna Anderson. A4

http://voicethread.com/?#q.b109868.i562593

Global warning is one of the main causes of why our earth is in danger.  Every day through out the world, there are people who pollute, dont recycle, or lack by saving energy.  In a useful way of helping out our earth and being more user friendly, do the little things that can help make our earth a better place to live in.  Things like, throwing away garbage in necessary resources, recycling, and saving energy.  Another important need is always have some kind of plant around the house.  It's better for the environment and for your health.

Grattitude is an emotion of how you feel towards a person.  Grattitude is important to show towards family, friends, and peers.  In the following film it talked about how two boys showed grattitude towards their mother for her always being there for them and showed her loved towards them.

Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker

In my career as an architect, I looked up information on the internet about the trainging/education needed, work environment, earnings, the future and much more about this career topic.  Although I had a pretty good idea on what architecture was about, I used that knowledge as well for my presentation.  It started out though with the help of Mr. Stevenson giving us the Occupatoinal Career Website which helps determine who you are and what you like to do, describing what field you would go through in the real world.  This could be used in your own personal life because with the knowledge of knowing what field you would like to pursue, just that website can give you a better idea of what career you would like to follow through in when your older.

Fast Growing Careers

                Arianna Anderson

Internet A4

Careers and Money

In my opinion, I disagree with the statement, “The most important consideration in choosing a career is whether the career is a fast growing career.” This is because there are many careers throughout the world that don’t have to be a fast growing career to be considered to you or others around the world.  If you are in a career that you love, than stick with it if it makes you happy; even if it isn’t a fast growing career.
One of my favorite careers I chose from the Career Interest Game under the topic Social, was a Registered Nurse.   Researching and looking up Fastest-Growing Occupations; Registered Nurse wasn’t on there, although many careers in the medical career were listed on there.  One such as Medical Scientists, 109,400 people around the world in 2008 were interested and working in that field.
The expected in 2018 will be around 153,600 people working through the Medical Scientists.  The change between ten years was 40% and the salary is quite some money, but then again once you start out in any career, you have to work your way up to the top.  A doctor’s degree is also needed for this career.
“The most important consideration in choosing a career is whether the career is a fast growing career.” Once again I disagree because it’s not all about the money.  You can choose any kind of career within any field that you may love doing, no matter what the salary may be.  Although the Registered Nurse wasn’t on the Fastest-Growing Occupations, it is also a career I would consider doing even though the salary is a better offer than most jobs.  Nurses will usually always be in higher demand.  This is how I feel about the Fast Growing Occupation List.
